1. Do I have to take private lessons?

A. No, but it is highly recommended. From 7th grade on, the school district does not offer lessons, only group rehearsals. Private lessons provide the student with one on one time with a teacher to develop skills specific to your needs and development.

2. Does the AAJHS supply intruments?

A. Yes, with exceptions. The AAJHS does not own any violins, which you must purchase or rent on your own. The AAJHS does own several violas, but because of the low supply you may want to look into buying or renting your own. Due to the high cost of celli and basses, the AAJHS does supply these to students.

3. Can I get an instrument over the summer?

A. Yes!! the AAJHS instrumental music department runs a week long camp at the beginning of summer for 7th grade students. The director will assign school violas, celli, and basses during that week.
