Jazz Band

There are two jazz bands, varsity and junior varsity. The varsity is a single stacked jazz band, the traditional style. The varsity jazz band is seen on tours to the elementary schools. It is comprised only of 8th and 9th grade band members. The junior varsity jazz band is larger, with multiple people covering each part. All grades are eligible to join the junior varsity and varsity jazz band.

String Quartet

The string quartet is comprised of four players. Two violins, one viola, and one cello play in this ensemble. The top chairs of the respective instruments are given these positions.

Chamber Orchestra

The Chamber Orchestra is a 9th and 8th grade autditioned string ensemble. About the middle of September, the director will announce auditions for the Chamber Orchestra. This is an advanced ensemble that practices after school and does some extra concerts in the community. This is also the group seen during the holiday season at the elementary schools. At this point, 7th graders are not eligable for the Chamber Orchestra.

Vocal Ensamble

Vocal Ensemble

The vocal ensemble is open only to 8th and 9th grade active chorus members. Also seen on elementary tours, this group sings more advanced pieces and has more demanding roles of each participant. One must audition to become a member. Vocal Ensamble is an extra-curricular after school chorus program for students with higher vocal/singing talent who enjoy more of a challenge when it comes to music. All pratices are after school.
