9/12: Congratulations to one of our 6th graders for being the winner of the TV for turning in his golden ticket for the fundraiser!  Enjoy your new TV!!!!

9/12: The boys lost a tough matchup against the Park Forest little lions tonight. They fought extremely hard the entire game and gave up the first goal with about 10 minutes remaining. The boys lost 3-0. We will have our revenge soon enough. The boys move on to somerset on 9/12 to attempt to flip the narrative.

9/12: The girls volleyball team picked up two more wins, defeating Central Mountain in both the A and B games on Tuesday and defeating Huntingdon in both the A and B games on Wednesday. The team is back in action today at home against Mount Nittany.

9/12: The boys and girls Jr. High cross-country teams traveled to cross-town and district rival Hollidaysburg on Wednesday afternoon.

Come out and cheer on our runners as they participate in the Altoona Invitational on Saturday September 21 at Logan Elementary beginning at 10:00 am.

Good luck and Go Mt. Lions and Lady Lions!!!

9/12: The 8th grade football team won their home game against State College 29-6.

9/12: The AAJHS 7th grade football team traveled to Bellefonte yesterday and stormed out to a dominant 30-0 lead by halftime.    The game ended by a score of 30-14 and Altoona improved to 2-0 on the year.  The 7th grade team plays at home on Roosevelt field next Tuesday at 4 for their first home game of the season.  Please come out support these young Mt Lions.

9/12: The Altoona  Lady Lions faced off against the Park Forest  Little Lions in State College last evening. Both teams donned with maroon and white and dubbed with similar mascot names,  there was positively potential for puzzlement on the pitch. At one point it seemed that we were even seeing doppelgängers on the field. The first 27 minutes were pretty evenly matched as neither team was able to take the lead until one of our players absolutely crushed a 40 yarder past the Park Forest keeper at 27’12” giving the Altoona squad a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. As the sun was beginning to descend behind the surrounding trees, the Little Lions emerged from the shadows with a new plan of action. At the 40’ mark the Little Lions tied the game. The Lady Lions kept the pressure on, but Park Forest was able to separate themselves and take the lead at 47’. The game ended with the Park Forest Little Lions taking the victory and leaving the Altoona Lady Lions with a record of 1-1-1. The girls are headed  to Bedford this afternoon looking to improve their record against the mismatching Lady Bisons who don blue and white. Good luck, Ladies!
