Students in Mrs. O'Roark's Art 8 and Art in Public Spaces students participated in painting rocks for the #AdamRocks Project. Adam is a young boy from Hollidaysburg who suffered from a terrible accident in June of 2017. After being found in his family's pool, Adam was without a heartbeat for 80 minutes. Adam survived the incident but fights everyday for his life and is in need of hyperbaric oxygen and stem cell infusions. Before the accident occurred, Adam loved playing with rocks outside of the family home with his big sister. The family of Adam is asking that others participate in painting rocks that will be hid in places around the local area and beyond. These rocks will serve as a daily reminder that "ADAM ROCKS" and will continue to fight his battle. Emma Girdany, an 8th grade student at the Junior High, and her mother Michele are friends of Adam's family. Michele Girdany kindly donated the rocks to be painted by Mrs. O'Roark's students. This past weekend the Girdany's hid the rocks around town.
