Announcements 9/10

9/9-9/11: Attention all EIGHTH grade members of National Junior Honor Society: Mrs. Hovan has already begun posting items to your Google Classroom, so be sure to check it out. Most importantly, look for information about paying your dues and running for officer positions. See her in room 240 with any questions.

 

9/10-9/12: Mathcounts meetings are on Mondays after school from 2:45 - 3:45 in room C275.  Interested students can still join by filling out a permission slip and returning it to Mrs. Abbott.  If you played the 24 game before, Mathcounts is the club for you!  Our next meeting is Monday, September 15.  Please email Mrs. Abbott or stop by with questions.  

 

9/10-9/12: The next Speech League meeting will be held on Monday, September 15, from 2:45 - 3:15 in Mrs. Hallinan’s room ( 312). If you were unable to attend the first meeting, feel free to join us.

 

9/10-9/12: "Attention silks and majorettes, please make sure to join the Band Front Google Classroom. A weekly newsletter will be posted there. You are expected to open and read the newsletter by each Sunday at midnight. A copy of the code will be posted outside of the band room. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Brannan."

 

9/10: The girls soccer team has had a busy week so far.  On Monday, they lost to crosstown rival Hollidaysburg by a 2-1 score.  

 

Yesterday, the Lady Lions traveled to Bellefonte and came home with a 1-1 draw.  Falling behind 1-0 in the first half the Lady Lions fought back and scored with less than 1 minute to go in the half to tie the score at 1's.   The second half ended in a draw as well.  The girls soccer team is now 2-1-1.  They travel to Park Forest on Thursday.  Wish them good luck if you see them.

 

9/10: On MONDAY 9/8: Altoona vs Hollidaysburg. The matchups of our lives. Hollidaysburg started off the game with a goal in the first minute. Altoona held strong until the Tigers snuck in another goal. Altoona played hard.  The game ended 2-1 Tigers.

 

On TUESDAY 9/9:

Altoona played Bellefonte today in a nailbiter game. Altoona snuck two goals in quick in the first half. 

 

9/10-9/12: MANSION PARK STADIUM FOOTBALL SPECTATOR GUIDELINES In order to maintain a safe, orderly and enjoyable atmosphere for all those attending Mt. Lion football games, the following guidelines will be followed for students/spectators entering Mansion Park Stadium. These rules and procedures will be enforced at all times in order to keep our fans safe and students well supervised. 

• All students and accompanying parents/guardians are required to use the designated student entry at the Main Gate of the stadium or Columbia Field entrance. 

• Students in grades K-5 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult for the entirety of the game. 

• All students in grades 6-8 are required to present a school-issued ID (or temporary ID) and be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult. 

• Students are required to sit in the designated Junior High student section. This section will be monitored by adults. Students may sit with their parents or guardian for the entirety of the game. 

• Parents are responsible for their student’s behavior. 

• All students in grades 9-12 are required to present a school-issued ID and sit in the Home stands. Students are encouraged to sit in the designated Mt. Lion Maniacs student section or with their parents or guardians for the entirety of the game. 

• NO BACKPACKS will be permitted in the stadium. All bags and belongings are subject to search and seizure. 

• No loitering is permitted. Students/Spectators must sit in the stands. Aisles must be kept clear at all times. Congregating under the bleachers or around the concession areas will not be permitted. Standing along the field fence during the game is prohibited. 

• There will be no walking around the outside of the field during the football game. 

• Students/Spectators who throw food, drink, or other items will be immediately escorted from the stadium, will not be permitted re-admittance, and may be banned from the stadium for the remainder of the school year. 

• Students/Spectators who refuse to comply with stadium officials’ directions will be immediately escorted from the stadium, will not be allowed re-admittance, and may be banned from the stadium for the remainder of the year.
